Malpais Hill

There’s a little rise in the middle of a flat field where we walk that I explored it one day. I wonder if it was a volcanic vent that lava flowed out of. Lots of malpais outcroppings are scattered throughout the area. There seems to be an entrance from each direction up to the hill with large malpais lining the entrances. The entrances almost look man-made but there doesn’t seem to be any reason anyone would do that. The rocks are way too large to have been moved by hand. Maybe those were the flow areas and the big rocks cooled in place along the flows. Someone obviously stacked some malpais and made a little cairn on top. All in all a strange little hill with all kinds of vibe.
