Alfred Stieglitz, a pioneer in the early days of photography, made many photographs of clouds and called them Equivalents. They were seen as some of the first abstract photographs made. Maybe they were inspired by New Mexico skies when he was here with Georgia O’Keefe.
I’ve always been drawn to Stieglitz’s work, and lately the New Mexico skies have been spectacular so I was inspired to make my own Equivalents. Hope you enjoy them.
